Frequently Asked Questions

When and how often will I play a league match?

League matches are scheduled on weeknight evenings starting at 6:30 PM or later on Monday through Friday. League matches are played at: West Wind Park, 4550 NW 82nd Ave., Lauderhill, FL 33351. Players are scheduled to play one match per week.

How much is the league entry fee?

The fee is $36 per person. This includes membership in the league for 4 months from the date that you join. This $36 league fee does not include the court fee. The court fee is paid separately at the West Wind Park Office before entering tennis court. The court fee is $2.00 per person for league players.

How long does the league season last?

The league season is 14 weeks long. The league season is followed by season-ending playoffs. We have three league seasons per year - Spring Season, Summer Season, and Fall/Winter Season.

How do the playoffs work?

The regular season will be followed by season-ending playoffs -Top Gun Playoff for top 14 ranked players; and, Jock & Awe Playoff for players ranked 15 and lower. Format is regular scoring/single elimination. Top Gun Playoff is for "Veteran" players only (players who have played a minimum of 150 games or more in the past year).

Do I have to be a USTA member to join the league?

No, you do not have to be a USTA member.

How do I pay the league entry fee?

You may pay the league fee with PayPal on the league homepage: www.browardtennis.org

Players also have the option of paying by personal check or cash. Please make out personal check to: Don Lawrie

Please leave check or cash at the West Wind Park Office on night of your first scheduled match.

When can I join?

Players may join any time during the regular league season.

What ranking will I start out with?

All players are initially assigned a 4.0 NTRP (National Tennis Rating Program) ranking level. Rankings are computer generated and will change from week-to-week depending on your match score and opponent.
